Biographies of the ChoreoVideo Project Team


Tim Glenn, Project Director, Contributing Author, Videographer


Tim Glenn, Associate Professor of Dance at Florida State University, received his M.F.A. in Dance (Choreography and Technology) from The Ohio State University where, after earning his degree, he worked for the Department of Dance and the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design. He is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.S. Dance, B.S. InterArts and Technology) where he taught modern dance and improvisation as an Associate Lecturer. Glenn is a former member of the Nikolais and Murray Louis Dance Company, the Melrose Motion Company, and is the Artistic Director of Performance Tech - Tim Glenn and Company. He works as video consultant for the Paul Taylor Dance Company and the Nikolais/Louis Foundation for Dance, Inc.  Glenn has been the curator of Dance on Camera, an international festival of dance films at FSU, and from 2001-2005 served as Technology Director for the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography at FSU. His interests in dance technology include digital media, interface design, telematics, and multimedia theater. In the fall of 2005, Glenn premiered Aqueous Myth: Tales of a Water Planet, a full evening of dance and technology. He has presented his research in concert dance documentation at the 2006 Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities and was invited to present "New Software for Teaching" at the 2006 Annual Meeting of the National Association of Schools of Dance in Snowbird, UT. Glenn recently received an Innovative Instruction Grant from the FSU Center for Teaching and Learning which resulted in the production of an online resource for teaching videodance called ChoreoVideo.com. Andy Noble, Assistant Project Director, Contributing Author, Videographer, Editor


Andy Noble received a BA in dance from the University of South Florida and is currently an MFA candidate at Florida State University with an emphasis in dance and technology. Andy’s performing experience includes six years with Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT), where he performed in works by Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Jose Limon, Zvi Gotheiner and David Parsons to name a few. He was also a member of the Demetrius Klein Dance Company in Miami, Florida. As a teacher, Andy has served as faculty at the University of South Florida and Western Washington University. He has also been a guest artist at numerous other universities across the country.

In the realm of technology, Andy is co-director of ANDancers Video Productions, a free-lance service providing documentation and promotional videos for art organizations. He also created and designed a multi-media component for Repertory Dance Theatre that chronicles a century of dance. Other notable technological credits include: the hosting of Bellingham Dance for the Camera Festival, organizing the Northwest ACDF Faculty/ Student Dance for the Camera Screening, and the creation of a DVD dance for the camera teaching tool entitled Screendance: filming and editing techniques.

Andy has received numerous grants for his project-based company, Andy Noble & Dancers, which emphasizes choreographic, theatrical and intergenerational work. The Salt Lake Tribune named him the “best new independent producer,” for his original evening of dance-theater, “…to the Rescue.” He has been commissioned to choreograph new works for RDT,
Moving Current Dance Collective, American College Dance Festival, Paradigm Dance Company, The Florida Dance Festival, University of Utah, Dartmouth University, University of South Florida, California State University, Fresno, University of North Texas and Western Washington University.

Dionne Noble, Contributing Author, Consultant


Dionne Noble received a BA in dance from the
University of South Florida and a MFA in modern dance with an emphasis in dance and technology from the University of Utah. Upon graduation, Dionne joined the Demetrius Klein Dance Company in Miami, Florida and has since performed with Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT), Paradigm Dance Project and Moving Current Dance Collective. She has had the great opportunity to work with several other artists such as Joe Goode, Molissa Fenley, Stephen Koester, Sean Curran, and performed in historical works by Viola Farber and Doris Humphrey. Her choreographic work has been produced by Seattle’s On the Boards Northwest New Works Series, the University of Utah, RDT, Moving Current Dance Collective, ACDF, Bellingham Repertory Dance Theatre, Paradigm Dance Project, Western Washington University, Florida State University, FSU’s Dance Repertory Theatre(DRT) and Tallahassee Ballet.


Dionne has served as faculty at Western Washington University where she performed research and wrote grants to introduce a new dance and technology interest for the program. Other technological projects include: the hosting of Bellingham Dance for the Camera Festival, organizing the Northwest ACDF Faculty/ Student Dance for the Camera Screening, and the creation of a DVD dance for the camera teaching tool entitled Screendance: filming and editing techniques. Her most recent project is a collaboration with Moving Current Dance Collective on the dance for the camera, Shifting Sands. Dionne has also taught for Repertory Dance Theatre, Florida State University, University of South Florida, American College Dance Festival and for several schools in Tampa, FL, Salt Lake City, UT, Bellingham, WA and Tallahassee, FL.

Marc Ray, Technology Support Specialist and Web Developer


Marc Ray received his BS in Information Studies from Florida State University. He has been working in the computer networking and Internet development field for the past six years. His work has ranged from website programming to network administration and design. He also brings to the department his experience in digital video and documentary video production.

Jason Macdonald, Performer


Jason Macdonald, an Orlando native, began his dance training with Melissa Stokes and later with Alberto Alonso and Sonia Calero at Santa Fe Community College. He has performed with the New York City Opera and Alabama Ballet Company under Artistic Director, Wes Chapman. His repertoire includes Cinderella, Don Quixote, Firebird, and George Balanchine's The Nutcracker and Serenade.  Mr. Macdonald is currently pursuing a BFA in Dance and in Finance at Florida State University.

Jacqueline Podence, Performer


Jacqueline Podence is enjoying a rewarding career as a performer, choreographer, and educator. Ms. Podence was born in Allentown, PA where her love for dance began. She holds a BFA degree from Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she was awarded the University Dance Works scholarship and the Dance Express Choreographers Prize for her talent in dance and choreography. Ms. Podence has worked with several contemporary dance companies in the New Jersey and New York area and was a solo performer with the New York City based Dodge Dance Company from 2002 until 2006. Jacqueline’s strong ability to communicate through dance has enabled her to work with community outreach groups such as Young Audiences of New Jersey, expanding children’s intellectual foundations with the expressive movement and artistic freedom of dance. Ms. Podence is very excited to be expanding her talents and continuing her education with the Florida State University’s Dance Department as a MFA candidate.
